That tall superstructure and funnel looks goofy. Old yachts are supposed to look classy.

California is one of the best places to drive a car. At least SoCal is a great place. The annual registration costs are unreasonable, but insurance is fair. The mostly good all-year weather enables the use of summer/performance tires. A seemingly general lack of speed patrols ensure you won’t rack up tickets.

Gas/petro

Yeah, this is totally not what they want and it totally won’t handle any of those fire roads but... as they say, ‘when in Rome...’.

Look Charlie, the correct answer isn’t always the right answer. You and your wife only have one shot at making a good first impression on us Yanks.

McLaren is a lot more willing to sell you a car than Ferrari or Lamborghini. Ferrari will outright forbid you from buying a new car unless you buy something off their used lot first, and Lamborghini is less friendly on financing. McLaren will sell a base model to basically anyone who can come close to affording it,

McLarens are exotic looking, they have the funky doors, they perform, etc. But to me they lack cache despite the price. I think part of it has to do with the company’s lack of consumer/street product history compared to Lambo, Ferrari, and Porsche. One way to overcome that would have been to adopt the Porsche naming

Except for the Longtail.  That is a work of art.

A few reasons. Price, because dodge dealerships still run promotions. Less complicated, because older car. Also RWD. Some people really like rear wheel drive.

The problem with the “murdered out” all-black look, is that it only looks good when the car is freshly washed and detailed. The cruel irony of course being, that black is the hardest color to keep looking clean, so these cars just end up just looking a like a dusty black blob with no metallic accents of any kind, most

This is not a current automotive trend. I sold Mitsubishis in 2002 and the beautiful blue Eclipse GTS and yellow Lancer OZ Rally sat in our showroom for months and months, and eventually sold for under MSRP. But the white, silver, dark grey and black cars? Sold them no problem all day long. Auto makers know what

Can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic, but I actually love the look. I have for well over 20 years since I started getting into cars. I don’t do it because it looks tough, wealthy (really?) or to follow a trend. I enjoy it because I like the way it looks.

No!! Black on Black on Black isn’t cool? This is very disappointing for me. I love that aesthetic so much and I’m a tool now... Well I suppose I was always a tool, but now I know it which makes it icky.

Even the Hilux is fairly overrated. It’s Australia’s best seller despite being quite old and overpriced. Isuzu’s new MU-X (and its Mazda BT-50 twin) are better, Mitsubishi’s Triton is cheaper and nearly as good, and the new Ranger is quite good and Aussie designed.

Maverick.

They are “manufacturing outrage” for the clicks and “engagement.” Basically, it’s now the job of the jalopnik staff to troll their audience instead of reviewing cars. “I don’t get the hype” is intentionally non-committal and ambiguous. So whatever it is you think that means, they can all claim that they don’t mean it

I’ve always thought of current US automaker “pony” cars as the following high school stereotypes:

Sorry, but no. I’m African American, and artist and musician, and card-carrying liberal. The challenger is the most comfortable car I’ve ever driven, bar none. I’m 6'4" and in shape, and other than a pickup, not much else feels comfortable. I have put it in sport mode only five times over the past eight years, so I’m

About the Demon. It’s a car for the lowest common denominator in a car enthusiast. Knuckle dragging, Pabst swilling, Kid Rock listening, trailer park dwelling rednecks who need to have the highest HP so they can brag at the local watering hole.

Hating on Porsches and Miatas and happily driving a Mazda2 tells me you were the wrong staff member to write this article.  It also make me question your love for cars as I would assume one would need to be an automotive journalist.  Porsches and Miatas are fun cars to drive and many people would tell you that’s all

I would submit that cars, in general, are overhyped compared to the exhilaration of a motorcycle. Especially, when compared by price. An mid-priced sportbike will provide the acceleration of an uber expensive sports car while providing a much rawer and exciting experience. Or you can get an ADV bike and tour while
