I think that’s a misconception. Just because you cannot buy a new ICE car in 2035 doesn’t mean everyone will all of a sudden stop driving them and all the gas stations will go away. People drive all manners of cars that are 20 years old now, still plenty of 30 year old Corollas and Jeeps on the road. It’ll be 2060…

A modern, loaded, full-size pickup truck is a dream to road trip in (fuel notwithstanding). They’re comfortable to the point of lulling you into relaxation, they have all the amenities to keep you entertained, they have great visibility, they can carry all your shit and more.

And hardtop convertibles are mostly fine as well. 

as an owner of many convertibles, it all depends. my alfa romeo spider was so loud that ate highway speeds you couldn’t carry on a conversation below a shout. in my e46 M3 convertivle, it was nearly as quiet as a normal car (tops with some sort of liner make a big difference!)
