Yes, and?

I was interested in buying it, but when I called to get the details, they asked, “May I get a suggestion for a price?”  I don’t have time for this.

I’m considering buying it, but only as a joke.

Detective Michael Scarn! I’m ordering you to drop the gun!

He looks like some really bad deepfake software tried to mashup Brad Pitt and David Spade.

The thing is he’s very much an adult and his career is performing. Even if he said it was awful and he hated it, a little unprofessional perhaps, but “the most traumatizing experience in my life”. Dude you’re 45 not 16, calm it down drama queen. It reads as either obnoxious or stupid. Shit he could have just said he

yeah and then he told reporters outside the bank

Man, if an artist isn’t interested in participating in mainstream popular culture, I think they’re usually a little full of themselves, but fair play. But if an artist *participates* in mainstream popular culture while crowing about how empty and pathetic it is, I just have no time for them at all. Get a job, dink.

A follow up: Has he deposited the check yet?

Imagine having that little going on in your life. Imagine having that little pain.

“I don’t want to be part of any room full of adults hemming and hawing over plastic trophies.”

Apparently not a huge amount of personal disappointments since playing at the Oscars was “the most traumatizing” thus far.

Sufjan’s good and all, but describing a benchmark for the kind of professional success 99.999999% of working musicians only dream of as the most traumatizing experience of his life does not beef up his personal likeability profile.

I could have lived without that ‘lovely’ anecdote that will continue to haunt me when listening to the song. How did he ever make it out of the coffee houses with such a philosophy on the music industry? Somehow he didn’t cut his wrists after the sales bump from his Oscars appearance.

“I didn’t want to have anything to do with that world and that culture,” he said of the Hollywood A-listers for whom he was crooning. “I don’t want to be part of any room full of adults hemming and hawing over plastic trophies.”

Ordinarily I’d be all about someone calling out the Oscars’ bullshit, but this just reeks of an edgelord emo teen screaming in your face “Look how much I keep it real with how dark and edgy I am! LOVE ME!”

Let me top that one: Lucille Ball.

Chloe Fineman has done some stellar work.

Being a stoner

Makes you wonder what she would say about a 17-year-old who arms himself and crosses state lines to murder protestors in defense of the neighborhood TJ Maxx?
