When I saw that it was “most of” the cast, my first thought was “I bet Chris Pratt isn’t going to be there.”

And, frankly, for me, knowing when the show was on was the biggest downside. It’s a shame because the writing was pretty consistently strong. 

I used to love this show, but the lengthy breaks made it much harder to stay invested in the show. I don’t know that 7 seasons in 16 years was the best formula.

Steve Earle’s performance in Treme, the follow-up to The Wire, is absolutely moving. There’s a lot of great performances in that series (Steve Zahn is absolutely amazing, and Clarke Peters, Wendell Pierce, and John Goodman is as good as ever), but Earle’s so great at imbuing this subtle sensitivity to his acting.

Shared sadness with a friend about this last night. Spent years with long commutes in rural areas and his music was a great soundtrack for many drives and the sights I would see.

This song is really getting the Streisand effect working for it. It’s not particularly good or clever, but there’s some bizarre 90's puritan outrage promising to make it one of the most notable songs of the year.
