Normally, I have a firm and abiding hatred for cars that are rusty (or appear rusty) to this level and are kept like that as a statement (as opposed to being because the owner can’t afford to take care of it). However, this one speaks to me. I like it. Don’t know why, I just do.

A star from me for invoking the “1/2 your age + 7 rule”.

The real problem with having both bands share a single name is that certain devices (like smart outlets and smart bulbs) only use 2.4GHz and can’t easily be told to specifically use the 2.4GHz band (because the bands are sharing a name).

I have to admit, I had virtually the same thought. Have a star from me....

If you’re going to be a spelling pedant, at least be right about it. Istari rises had it correct to begin with. Your mistake was not knowing the difference between a possessive (your) and a contraction (you’re).

At my work, raises are based on performance reviews, but my boss believes that no one is perfect (i.e. no one he supervises gets a perfect performance review. EVER). So when they hand out raises, I’m less likely to get a raise than someone with a different supervisor because they can actually get rated as “Excellent”

Wouldn’t it have been amazing if someone (instead of filming it for the purposes of posting to their social media account(s)) got ahead of the truck and applied their brakes (in the truck driver’s line of sight) to coerce him into slowing down/stopping?

Spot on. Especially the part about infotainment systems being a disaster. Who thought that a touchscreen interface was a good idea for a driver to interact with? It’s an accident (followed by a class action lawsuit) waiting to happen. Give me traditional knobs and buttons any day...

The reason it’s so lazy is that they don’t have to pay people to find the glitches. They just have to monitor the sites where people post about the glitches.

The problem is the sheer scale of open world games. It’s damn near impossible to create perfect terrain geometry such that wall glitching is eliminated completely. At the same time, using death zones in lieu of fixing the geometries as the glitches are found is truly lazy.

I’d like to know what kind of jobs he has helped African Americans (or Hispanics) gain. Are we talking about minimum wage jobs that can’t financially support a single person or are we talking about jobs that provide a decent enough paycheck to survive on?

Not just girls. I have a friend (who is a guy, but not the least bit mechanically inclined) who didn’t change the oil in his leased Honda (or Toyota? Regardless, imported compact car) for at least 18,000 miles. When he turned in the lease car, they had to cycle in at least 6 quarts of oil (in stages) to thin out the

I used spiral notebooks throughout college. I just started at the back and worked towards the front of the notebook. Confused the shit out of people trying to copy my notes...

Actually, a lot of people in the southern US don’t have garages and as such, still suffer from frost on their windshields. We also end up getting a lot more ice because most winter storms start as rain storms and transition into snow and ice. FYI, I live in Tennessee. Other parts of the southern US may have a

First, why is the word programmers in quotes?

I am disinclined to take the word of a 19 year old on this. I agree that taking action is better than doing nothing at all, but publishing code with a bad initial design generally leaves another programmer with the arduous task of dealing with the compromises and shortcomings it contained when the code transitions to

I would settle for a cupholder that my Galaxy Note fits in without removing the OtterBox I have it in...

EXACTLY! Especially the GPS. Why do I need something that my smartphone does better?

Conversely, the only windows to fail me have been power windows. I had an S10 with crank windows. The passenger window was jacked up (made really loud thunks when rolling up or down), but still it always worked.

Just make sure to only use videos of roller coasters that don’t invert (i.e. roller coasters without loops & corkscrews)...
