At Maryland, the campus police are part of the state police. They’re regular cops, not essentially security guards as at some other schools.

Maryland entered the Big Ten in debt, then was involved with lawsuits to get out of the ACC. They’ve been paying that debt off for the last couple of years and should start breaking even or even going in the black in another year or two.
