A friend of mine and I used to do a big meal for all the military guys on post who were too far from family to get home. Her husband and my bf (now husband) were deployed together, but still tons of guys we knew didn’t have any other place but their DFAC. Family doesn’t always mean related.

Raised Baptist, Pagan in adulthood, I went to my first Catholic wedding a couple of years ago, and they had a full mass.
