It was quite common for the tobacco sponsored teams to run alternate liveries like this, specifically in countries that banned tobacco advertisement. Ferrari, McLaren, Jordan, Renault, etc.. they all did it.

I seriously wouldn't mind that engine if the chassis and suspension are relatively stiff and the steering has good feedback. Who doesn't like fuel economy and peace of mind bullet proof reliability WHILE having fun once in a while on twisty roads?
