I worked mostly at the defunct Elmgrove plant in various product development roles. I'd heard that EK execs on the analog side of the business in the late 90s saying that EK had about 15 years until they needed to worry about digital.
I sell cameras part-time. Unfortunately, slow focus and shutter lag is a problem with every point-and-shoot camera. It's frustrating to me as it is to the customers I work with every day.
I completely agree — I hate anything in gloss black.
After having owned and wore out two Norelco shavers, I decided to try a Braun. It did a slightly better job than Norelco but dropped a lot more debris on the bathroom counter. At13 months into its 12 month warranty, the power switched failed. Braun would do nothing for me except charge me something like $50 to…
Chritmas does not own when you've been unemployed for almost three years from an $80K job and am working retail for $10/hr., you are divorcing, and you just broke up with your potential girl-friend.
What an idiot. Fuck Christmas.
Sweet! I just sent my two 1st Gens yesterday!
Wow, that's going to leave a very large and empty spot next to Intel's booth. No more "Wintel" at CES! (Oh wait, no one has used that term since 2000....)
Yep, free is a very good price; thank you Skype!. Obviously AT&T (IIRC) had hoped to turn the Information Superhighway into another pay-per-minute/byte revenue stream after being forced to breakup into separate companies in the 80s thus eliminating their telecom monopoly.
This reminds me of a presentation and futuristic video I remember from COMDEX Spring/Windows World 1992, possibly by AT&T.
While there is little doubt being a UAV pilot is stressful, some of this article makes no sense. I expect a UAV pilot is of course piloting the aircraft and only maybe they are the one lighting off a Hellfire missile, but you can be sure he's not the one identifying insurgents from civilians. There must be an…
I have no idea who was the vendor as it was over 20 years ago and we never had additional contact with the company. The only other thing I remember is that their ferrofluid was used by the pulp/paper industry, though I have no idea why the would use it.
The way I read it, it appears to be only for Skype voice and Skype video calls. They could be paying for just those bytes which use their protocol and block everything else unless the user has paid for the usual Wi-Fi access.
When I worked in magnetic recording research in the late 80s, I had a vial of lab quality ferrofluid which cost something like $800/ounce. A colleague searched for another source and found ferrofluid was/is used for some manufacturing processes and sold by the barrel. When the vendor was asked to send a small sample,…
It's entirely possible the shape visible is misleading and not the shape of what is actually inside. The actual aircraft could be disguised by being covered with a pipe framework and/or carved foam blocks before wrapping.
OK, let's make that, "...completes the course before many 20- and 30-something men!"
My girlfriend would actually love the Garmin Forerunner watch. She's a 53 year-old triathlete who beats many 20- and 30-something men!
I remember watching Nintendo's launch their latest game console with the name, "Wii" and thought it was the dumbest name ever. I still think it sucks.
I work for a consumer electronics retailer. A couple weeks ago, I chatted with the rep for the Beats product line. Basically she said that they do a good job for people listening to rap/hip-hop as they put extra emphasis on the bass but also downplay the mid-range.
