You are right, I misread Wikipedia at first. They were supposed to have the LEM, but apparently it wasnt ready in time so they went just with the CSM. So, Orion is bigger in volume then the CSM, so I guess very do-able.

Bigger question I have is how is this reasonably going to be possible for the crew? Say 4 Astronauts onboard, the Orion capsule is quite small for a extended flight like that.

Lets be serious about NATO for a moment if you want to bring up nebulous wording. If Russia decided to attack for some reason any NATO country, and the U.S. did not respond, that would be the end of NATO? Could you agree to that? I agree the wording probably doesnt mean that say, Greece, needs to respond to an

So, interesting points. A few things always come to mind:

Not disagreeing, but you cant have both. :) Either ban it, or profit from it for charity..

I guess the question is, what is more likely? Fighting a peer state, or fighting people in pickup trucks?

A lot of this advice depends on you being able to deal with a rational person.. drinking turns the rational into the irrational real quick.

While I agree the F-35 costs are out of control, shorting the program is actually a bad idea as well. It will just drive the per unit up, and leave us with no alternative for a 5th gen fighter. Given how long it takes to design and spin up manufacturing, we will be way behind the 8 ball compared to Russia and China

True.. I’m within 15 miles of a primary target, so I wouldnt know.. :)

It’s not possible today. Nuclear Weapons, and a global economy pretty much guarantee it.. We will never be in full open conflict with the Russians or Chinese. It’s suicide for all countries involved, and everyone knows that.

I’m assuming neither of us can effect a change on that dynamic.

Eh, I’m not sure that was the reason why we didnt have world scale wars. I’m sure it helped, but not the reason. I’d argue Nuclear Weapons had much more to do with it then anything else. We didnt have enough trade with the USSR for the majority of the cold war to really matter if we never traded with them again.

Me an you both.. Not to turn it into a political discussion, but the thing I tried to ingrain into my kids heads with this last election is that your vote does matter, and who you elect does matter. What terrifies me is my kids getting drafted to go and kill brown people half way across the world. My son would

Ironically the best thing to end future major power wars came out of WW2. Nuclear Weapons. I doubt we will ever see another war like WW2 ever again.

If I buy 6 Dot’s, do I still get the 7th free if I buy them at @40 each?

Um, i’m not sure I would compare being incenerated or gassed to death with having to spend a few years in a camp. One is dead, the other is not dead. Big difference. I’ll take the camp where I dont die..

What in the world are you talking about? Please back ANY of that up with facts. Were they treated as A-1 Citizens? NO, but were they denied en mass, clean food, water, and medical attention? No. I’m sure you can find some instances were this wasnt the case, but there was no systematic attempt to eliminate them

You cant compare a camp that was specifically built to kill people in a mass way, to a camp, while not perfect, was not in ANY WAY designed to kill anyone. Any attempt to compare a Japanese internment camp to a German concentration camp is simply revisionist history, and doesnt do anyone any good.

Not defending what happened in the 40's, but I think it’s important to look at the context of the times.

Maybe because the American camps weren’t designed to kill its residents. Big difference.
