Again Microsoft were not the first to do backwards compatibility. Sony, Sega and Nintendo did backwards compatibility before Microsoft did with the Xbox 360. That’s before we even mention PCs lol

If you really think about it, its only consoles/handhelds by Nintendo and Sega that have really pushed the industry forward and innovated.

Microsoft destroyed Rare, who were one of the biggest and best developers from the 90's. Basically relegated them to casual kinect games.

Yeah the games industry need companies like Nintendo and Sega (back when they still made consoles), as they are nutty enough to try something radically new and innovate. Sony and Microsoft only really seem to be interested in the iterative approach of just more processing power.

In a world where people spend $400-600 on Lego kits,$1500-2000 on a smart phone, or $1500 on GPU for gaming, this doesn’t seem that bad. It’s easy to not screw up an adaption of something into a film. Its called treating the original source material and designs with respect. It was popular for a reason, so why does Hollywood constantly think it knows better and changes everything up.
