TSLA stock is already up 12% today. LOL.

i still dont get jalopniks slant on tesla. saying that the stock slid 250 billion and is recovering doesnt have the shock value of saying a trillion. sensational journalism at its finest.

It took the Hornsdale Power Reserve in Australia 2 years to recoup the initial cost. They’ve actually expanded it since they built it.

Sadly I think that’s all it is.

IIRC, it’s actually recouped the initial investment due to pricing arbitrage.

Wasn’t there some sort of wager too where if they didn’t build the installation in under 180 days it was free?

“I guess they must be Tesla stans for reporting that the Megapack increased grid reliability and kept costs down for customers”

Duh! Tesla bad! Batteries bad!

1st Gear: What is the basis that you think this system wont work? Seems like getting some additional capacity into the system is a good plan. Also this project was likely well underway before the storm hit.

2nd gear:

I mean, the giant grid scale Tesla battery in Australia is HUGELY successful, but, we’re going to ignore that because why?

I don’t care if some people get stuck with Model Xs with malfunctioning doors, or Model 3s defeated by rain, or whatever other little problems crop up in Tesla cars. I just don’t know if I want that kind of operation involved in power grids.

2nd Gear: “I am not sure a website emotionally engages people like humans do.”

They are obviously expanding the number of participants in the beta so that they collect more information to help improve the software.

Quite honestly, most people are bad at driving. If they weren’t, there wouldn’t be so many accidents and deaths on the highways every year. If people are using it the right way, this makes the cars so much more predictable than a human.

It’s kinda like the Apple Maps debacle. It was crap for some people when it launched, and over time it actually became quite competent and good, but no one talks about that. They just meme the shit out of Apple Maps sucking.

Not that you’d have any idea from reading this article, but the Beta he’s talking about is only for people who have paid for FSD.

What he’s offering is the beta that allows cars with the FSD option to navigate city streets, intersections, traffic and stop lights, basically do all the driving for you but still under

They need their clicks

This shittiness of this website is accelerating. Sad stuff.

Unfortunately, that ‘Beta’ bit is often dropped
