“The stock market is legal gambling with other people’s money.”
It’s rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive!
I thought everyone saw this.
And I’ll never unsee this.
“I’d be a little agitated if I were a customer”
I don’t usually write articles critical of the authors here because I’m sure you have unique pressures, but considering almost all of the interior photos are from Jaguar did they even let you sit in the car? This isn’t...anything. Not a review, not a first drive. It approaches a lecture with your diatribe about…
Just go read some of Mercedes Streeter’s work. Thorough, insightful, analysis of new cars. Even when we’re talking about a ‘First Drive’ article. Her review of the VW Taos - an SUV of all things - was consummately professional.
What’s up with the little ‘ethical consumption’ aside towards the end? Not only didn’t it seem to contribute anything to the article - I couldn’t see even a logical connection.
So um...how is it? How does it drive, how does the tech work, how do the seats feel? How does it compare to previous iterations of the XF, how does it *actually* compare to its competitors? FFS this has to be the most vapid, pointless review I’ve read. Did you just find someone’s XF in a parking lot to take a few pics…
You could literally replace every mention of “Jaguar” in this article with “Jalopnik”
Yeah I hardly read the reviews here anymore, because most of the time the author hasn’t driven anything comparable. When your frame of reference is a Honda Fit, how much can we really glean from your review of a Jaguar sedan?
Look at the author, that should give you a little insight
What has happened to car reviews on Jalopnik? It’s rare I click on them any more, but I’m genuinely considering an XF for my next car so gave this one a read.
I really like the updates they made to the interior. The seats, dash, door panels all look great. Did the XF lose its V6 with this refresh? Regardless, I would love to pick one of these up in two years after depreciation has done its worst.
Man you need to find a good independent shop.
Genesis over here trying to emulate BMW and call shit whatever they want to try and wedge in that “sporty” descriptor that marketing foisted upon them and avoid the dreaded “station wagon” name that people stopped disliking twenty years ago now.
Shooting brake - Two doors, long roof
Station wagon - Four doors (or more),…
Blog not newspaper. You should be able to tell by the use of exclamation marks, extended hyperbole, and use of “I” statements.
It would be a damn good thing if all unions were like German unions. I’m my experience they don’t fuck about, and they are very well run. They’re far less adversarial than Australian (and it seems American) unions, at least in the automotive sector, and they approach management with the view that both sides want the…
You want to know the reality in German automotive factories? go visit one and shake hands with all the robots that do everything from laying a bead of sealant around the windshield to putting a gallon of fuel in the tank before it goes out the factory door. The last Audi factory I visited in 2007 used probably 95%…
