Riding a motorcycle in the Bay Area is a joy compared to where I live on the east coast. It’s one of the dozens of reasons I want to move there. With lane splitting and traffic filtering you can get places in less than half time while back east riding a moto adds time as you are going no faster than the cars and you

Just try to scoot over before they get too close. They person riding doesn’t know why you are moving. Even though you are moving away, if you wait until they are almost at your bumper, they don’t know if you are moving for them or just making unpredictable movement (which is potentially deadly to them).

Swaps are a bad idea meant to compensate for slow charging times.  These aren’t your kids RC car you flip over and slap some AA’s in.  the Risk/Reward for battery swaps doesn’t make sense.  Better off working on capacity/charging time vs mechanical swapping of batteries.

I don’t know why anyone ever thought battery swaps in EV’s were going to be viable. As integrated as the battery is into a properly built EV, getting it out, and putting a new one back in, was never going to be an easy task.

Tesla may be on the right take here. I mean how often do cars today need an engine swap? Unless it’s an warranty job, most cars that need a new engine just ended up being scrapped and replaced with another car.

The biggest issue with battery swaps is the potential to get a battery that was more degraded than your original. I recall people saying you would be credited for that sort of situation, but then you have to live with a battery with a lower overall charge capacity until you roll the dice again on your next road trip.

They’re an open patent (as is the Supercharger standard). Any other manufacturer can use them if they want.

4th: Did anybody catch this a few weeks ago:

WOW. Someone hit that with the fugly stick, HARD.

ROFL...neighbors and parents “discovered” the site, huh? Any word on which dad or dads outed her to the rest? Jesus is fine with us LOOKING at OnlyFans, apparently...it’s only the posters who need to be kicked out. You couldn’t pay me to send my kids to a Catholic school.

For the record, Elon, I’d be a buyer of a $30,000 Model 3 with 100 miles of range. Make it happen.”

Yeah I saw someone else claiming 8c/kW-hr.  It’s double that in Michigan and three times that in the northeast.  So, you did get a nice discount until now.

For those who are confused how Porsche can own Volkswagen, who owns Porsche and Volkswagen, remember: it’s German, their corporations are just as complex as their cars. The corporate structure is sort of like this:

Part of it.

I own a Tesla and a Chevy Bolt and there is no reason to think that Tesla is basing their pricing around Chevy’s. The cars are in a completely different league from each other. The Bolt has an adequate drivetrain but the interior is cheap and the ride is poor. The Bolt is an economy hatchback and Tesla makes luxury

You’re suggesting Tesla doesn't have service centers? Kind of confused.

Tesla service stations arent that rare anymore. Id 100% trust Tesla servicing my Tesla more than Chevy servicing my Bolt.

I have a service center right down my street.

That front end looks pretty atrocious either up or down. What has Porsche done?

Sounds funny, but I refuse to click on deadspin articles due to how G/O media destroyed their own site and screwed over all those great writers.
