Lol this comment might take the cake. How is this being brave when he’s fucking over loads of people that are victims of hate crimes? He’s making matters worse, not shining a light on them. He needs to go away for all the damage he’s done.

Not sure where in US you are, and no aspersions suggested, but in Chicago, it was practically the entire city yelling at the police to tell us anything, and all they could say was how very little they had to go on. One of the biggest problems I have with so many of the mainstream, awards-friendly, race films is that they’re set in the past. That framing often allows people to pretend they’re not doing anything wrong by giving them a false historical distance from racism.
