My kids and wife are the same way. The only way I get my wife to enjoy a Brewers game is to get her hammered while tailgating. The fact that the Brewers lose just about every game she’s been to doesn’t help either.
That’s a definite possibility. I also feel like independent/minor league teams work harder to put and keep butts in seats. I’ve never left a non-major league game wondering why the fuck I bothered to spend money on it.

You could just use a mandolin slicer. I did that last time I was canning corn kernels from whole cobs and it worked really well. Better than trying to balance it vertically and slice them off with a knife.
