@vrillusions: I've found aluminum foil tends to be less rugged in the freezer (it gets little tears and holes after awhile, when other items - especially anything in a box with a corner - bump into it) which is my justification for having a roll of each.

This just in: The Tate Modern has been overrun by porcelain pigeons. Film at 11

@bloknayrb: Those aren't centimeters on the opposite side, those are still inches. If they were centimeters, there would be 2.54 of them for every inch.

@Donuthead: There are two types of 'bacon bits' - the good ones, which are real bacon, cooked and bitted; and the artificial soy based nuggets of fake smoke flavor and salt.

Me - coffee drinker, get it free at work, and buy it when I visit friends at a local coffee house on weekends. Whitener (skim milk or 1/2 and 1/2) definitely, sweetener depends on my mood.

For everyone asking about Voyager et cetera, I'm guessing this video is just the "major motion picture" series of warp jumps.

Fall is the best time for trees, shrubs and perennials in much of the country - the soil is warm so you get root growth to establish the plant, mulch it to protect it from the cold (and no worries about cooking from the heat), next spring you'll have plants that look a lot better than the ones you would have planted

All the other cheapskates must beat me to it, if I can even find "oops" paints in the stores around here, it is usually small cans of the most hideous colors. I have friends down south I have shopped with, and was amazed at the size and selection of the "oops" paint their stores have.

The only thing I count on my local coffee shop for is to meet my friends there and to relax after the local farmer's market in the late spring to early fall. That's also the best time to take advantage of the large covered patio. The good thing about the farmer's market is that it attracts a big crowd to the coffee

@minjChE: We don't extract helium from the atmosphere (5.2 parts per million 0r 0.00052%), we get it from deposits trapped along with natural gas (7% of volume from the well is helium). And yes, once it is released into the atmosphere, it does escape Earth's gravity well and floats off into space.

@Norbs: Nothing at all, Mr. Hindenberg

@rivercat: No, that's just hot air

@styfle: The helium we are using right now is actually extracted from the ground, along with natural gas (it makes up around 7%). All the helium currently on Earth is formed from radioactive decay (alpha particles are helium nuclei), and once it escapes the Earth and gets into the atmosphere, there's nothing to stop

@BeerManMike: blip.tv (the site hosting the video) is the one tacking on the ad. AdBlock on Firefox strips it out just fine.

Fail. I'm going to plant what I have room to grow (so no sweet corn), what I like to grow (tomatoes, cucumbers, kohlrabi, peas, beans, onions, garlic), and what I like to eat (same list). Even a farmer's market tomato pales to one you pluck from the vine and bite into no more than 3 seconds later. No way am I going to

@battra92: A small hole near the top of the can (black line) to allow the air trapped between the can and the trash can liner to escape. If you don't want to put a hole in the can, slide a finger between the liner and the can to create an air escape passage for a few seconds after you put the liner in the can.

Yeah, I can just see it...
