Yeah, Tobias' loathing for Korine is fairly well documented on this site. This is pretty much the review I figured he would write. I wish someone else had reviewed it. (Not trying to insult Tobias, he is a good film critic, I just wish there was a second opinion.)

Mason & Dixon is badass, Vineland is sorta disappointing but still pretty funny.

I'm a big pynchon nut (GR is probably my favorite novel of all time) but I read the first 120 pages of AtD and wasn't all that enthralled. I'll definitely read it eventually but I'm not in any rush to get back to it.
I'm almost 200 pages into The Recognitions by William Gaddis. I'm also reading Dennis Cooper's Frisk.
