I've been meaning to get into frederick barthelme. Where's a good place to start?

I just got to S2 of Downton Abbey. I'm pretty surprise at how much I enjoy that show.

Now they can go back to being a cult band which will probably be better for them. Centipede Hz is not on the level of their last 4 albums (not even counting the eps which are fucking excellent) but it's still a good album. New Town Burnout was probably my favorite song this year.

Fucking Shivers is so fucked. I love that last shot.

Yes, if you're into reading novels for their style more than their story. I say just read the thing and don't worry about comprehending everything. It's almost as much of a poem as it is a novel. It's worth it for the musicality of the language and is pretty damn funny in parts. Leopold Bloom is such a well-drawn

I don't know dude, I also read Freedom this year and found it pretty underwhelming. The first 200 pages were fairly entertaining (e.g. Patty's autobiography) but I became pretty tired of the love triangle. Some of the Joey stuff was ok. Richard was probably the best character. I'm pretty certain that his mysogyny is

I've read 2666 and The Savage Detectives and while the latter is a better book, 2666 has this unforgiving dread filled atmosphere that is pretty unique in modern fiction. Some of the book's threads don't quite come alive but enough do. The Part About the Crimes is fucking brutal and the best part of the book. The part

Infinite Jest has an obvious debt (as well as an intentional homage) to Gravity's Rainbow, particularly in the organization of the whole thing. But I think his voice is more influenced by William Gaddis (especially his dialogue), Don Delillo, and Donald Barthelme. Or at least people look into that influence to much.

Any correspondence with David Markson? Or Joseph Heller?

If you're looking for just straight up plot, you should probably avoid Bolano altogether.
