I just watched Theorem and kinda wished you had asked about that… anyone here seen that movie?

The Rock is pretty hilarious in Sounthland Tales (which my recent rewatch revealed was very underrated).
sadly, i would totally read the shit out of that
Tie between Omensetter's Luck by Willie Gass and Ray by Barry Hannah
shutter island is scorsese on shrooms, so theres one reason to see it. and who cares about the twist.
it's dark tone and odd use of narration made it stand out from breathless in an interesting. i also rewatched breathless and the end really got to me.
I have seen Prince Rama and I am jealous of you sir.
Lost in Translation seemed to me like a rip off of Morvern Callar.
There is a pretty cool allusion to GR in IJ during one of the Steeply/Marathe scenes to Slothrop and the witch girl (fuck, I'm blanking on her name) fucking on that mountain and playing with their gigantic shadows. The Eschatology scene seemed pretty allegorical in a pynchonian way.
Interestingly, Wallace considered Pemulis to be one of the "Antichrists" of the book. I'm guessing Lenz would be another one.
The Corrections is funny, but damn is it overrated.
I would recommend julien donkey boy.
I watched:
The Big Sleep, Le Petit Soldat, Syndromes and a Century, The Magnificent Ambersons. All were amazing as their respective reputations led me to believe.
Gattaca is too overheated for its own good. Jude Law is good though. They show this movie in every goddamn biology class these days.
Honestly, this song is the wrong place to stat with them. Try Latch, or Voices.

Tree of Life is a pretty random comparison here. And is does have something to say, even if its a somewhat simplistic message.
Also Schizopolis.
I'd actually to see a film that goes in that direction re: Slothrop's fate. In general, cinema (at least from what I have seen) seems to have missed any influence from literary postmodernism like Pynchon, Barthelme, Gass, Barth and Gaddis.
I can think of one exception at the moment: Synecdoche, NY.
