Who?
I was watching NHK with my mom and they showed a story about a guy who called 911 while clinging to the hood of a speeding car being driven by his ex-gf. “That’s gotta be Florida,” I said, and my mom was shocked at my psychic abilities. Nah, Mom, that’s just Florida for ya.
I have thoughts on that! “According to our studies, if the people of the world masturbate just eight percent more, civilization will collapse.” I watched it because it was Home Movies-adjacent and was suitably crestfallen when it ended.

I have been known to choose Barq’s, I think from nostalgia..? Also one of the large Canadian grocery chains (Loblaws/Superstore) makes a nice ginger beer that goes quite nicely with low- to mid-tier vodka.
I’m Asian and female and sooooo relieved to be hearing that this movie doesn’t suck.

SPOILER ALERT: May kicks May’s ass.
I love that all the way from “Handschuh” - “hand shoe” for glove - down to the implication that only weakass lightweights need gloves.
AFAIK it’s literally “slap face” (Backpfeife + Gesicht) in that inimitable tradition of German compound nouns. I can’t speak to the breakdown of “Backpfeife” beyond “Backen” being your cheeks or jowls and “Pfeife” being a whistle or pipe, though.
I found an unopened (!!) copy of The Last of Us in my queue a few months back - thanks for reminding me what I’m doing this winter... ^_^
I first ran into them five or six years ago in a veggie box delivery I split with a friend and we were both stumped. The first thing the internet suggested was pesto and it was a great way to try them for the first time. I made scape hummus and blanched them a few years back and sliced them up into everything. This…
I spied scapes earlier this summer at a farmers market booth and freaked out the guy behind the table by running up yelling PEEEEEEEEEEEEESTO TIME!!!! Seriously, I love garlic and bitter greens and pesto and all that and garlic scape pesto went on EVERYTHING for a few weeks.
