Which is probably why all the reviewers seem to be stressing the fact that you CAN explore and all that good stuff. They saw the same promotional stuff we all have and probably went into the review with the same impression, and if they're coming out of the review raving...well, there might be something there.

I was sooooo annoyed when Bats's cape got its first slice. It was like a testament to my failure as a gamer to see him through the game untouched. By the 5th, i stopped noticing.

Have you looked at the industry lately? While things aren't as bad as they were two years ago, studios are still closing down or are being consolidated based on the performance (or expected performance) of single high profile games. And what does my purchasing games have to do with anything? Me not choosing to buy

That might be the effect they were going for. Making watching her death uncomfortable enough to make you not want it to happen. In the age of quick respawns at checkpoints with little to no real penalty, that's a rare thing.

So you want a bunch of developers who worked their asses off making a game that reviewers seem to find fun to potentially lose their jobs? Your post tries to rationalize your view too much to be purely a troll post, which means you're just being an ass.

Unless this is a stealth "game delayed" announcement, it's in March (week after next i think).

That makes no sense. You're complaining that they decided to spend money on multiplayer rather than not spend the money at all? Why does it matter within the context of this game? It's not like you're being asked to pay extra for it.

So does that mean households that are actively trying to cut back on excessive profanity will need to get their coin jars ready or risk missing out on some cool stuff in-game? Well, shi......

You're assuming the other team that's working on multiplayer would even be available to help the single player guys if they weren't working on multiplayer, which is highly unlikely. Willing to bet that the money that pays those guys was added to the budget specifically for multiplayer. If the game didn't plan to

Depending on what kind of photographs they were, I'd tend to agree. The US is ridiculously prudish when it comes to anything related to nudity and sex, yet we're perfectly fine with levels of violence that other cultures view as excessive. I've lived in plenty of countries that had less prudish views about nudity

I swear there's something wrong with you guys. Here's a game that has gotten optimistic press based on hands on demonstrations giving you MORE content, created by another team so that resources aren't taken away from the team working on the single player aspect of the game, and instead of waiting to see if it's any

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was their first stab at online multiplayer, and that game has gotten a pretty positive response from people who played it. The multiplayer for this game, however, is being done by another team entirely (Deus Ex team at Eidos Montreal) so this isn't, technically, a "Crystal

As someone pointed out, multiplayer is used by many companies to urge players to keep the game for longer rather than selling it to gamestop to feed their used game market. Pure single player games have a tendency to get sold back to used game retailers faster because once you've finished the single player portion of

Completely agree. Unfortunately, the internet gaming community's foundation seems to be bitching, cynicism, and knee-jerk reactions, so your well reasoned post will probably be drowned out by the fanboy/hater rage.

As another commenter pointed out, the multiplayer is being done by another studio altogether (read a forum post somewhere that mentioned Eidos Montreal) so that CD could concentrate on the single player game, so it's not like the guys working the single player game had to stop to work on multiplayer stuff.

Seriously, this just shows how completely effed in the head the internet gaming community is. Developers try to give them more content, and instead of waiting to see if it's any good, they immediately take out the pitchforks and bitch. Surprised more developers haven't just said "eff it" and quit the industry
