Do it! Budgies are delightful. Do your research first, though. Spring for one that is hand tamed. It is so very worth it. One of nine is still afraid of me and it’s a pain. Also you may need to get two, because they are EXTREMELY social. They live in flocks of thousands in the wild.

With due respect! Mirrors are a bad idea for birds because they usually think there is really another bird there and can get very frustrated if you only have one bird. If you have multiples you won’t be part of their flock anyway so it’s not quite as bad.

They’re pretty loud. If you live in an apt, maybe not a great idea (unless the walls are super thick.) You can be put a towel or sheet over the bird’s cage if he/she gets too loud. They shush then because they think it’s time to go to sleep!
