Such a good film! Medal of Honour could be pushing it but I’d give you a cookie.

‘I was in the military in the true sense’?! As opposed to you know actually being in the military which is the pretend sense? This whatever he is is giving me a headache.
To be fair there’s been some debate among people I know as to whether my passport makes me look more serial killer or bank robber. Some of us just take a REALLY bad photo. In his case Data made of wax.
There was a bit in the guardian this morning examining this outfit and explaining how the exact shade of grey and something to do with the neckline? turned it into a work of sartorial genius. Not for the first time I realised I don’t get this stuff.
Good! I’m a geek books are always my go to when I’m nervous about something :) I’m going to spend a little more time reading up I think but I’m pretty sure I’m coming down in the pro bird camp. Thanks for the tips, your guy sounds very cool.
You’re quite right, interesting how the brain fills in the gaps isn’t it I hadn’t registered that he’d said sesame at all.
Well that’s both extremely sweet and mildly gross :) Yes something I read said it’s important to make sure they’re getting a nice varied diet and not just seeds and pellets, I guess as long as you weren’t feeding him budgie eggs it’s not much weirder than us eating them! I think I’m leaning in the pro bird direction I…
You mean we haven’t just been invented?! There’ve always been women?! what is this heresy!
Excellent gif :) I’ve been reading up and the advice seems to be that if they’re fairly young when you get them they’re reasonably easy to hand tame yourself, with you know patience and probably some getting bitten! Some people seem to think that one is easier to tame because it’ll accept you as it’s flock whereas…
I’m glad you think one wouldn’t necessarily be miserable I’d certainly try and take care of it! Well with all due respect to your aunt that’s daft and I don’t think I’d make that kind of mistake it’s the one’s you don’t notice I’m worried about! Poor bird :(
That makes sense isn’t the ability to recognise it’s you in the mirror actually quite advanced thinking? I have a vague memory of reading a study with chimps and I think somebody did some work with dolphins. I’ll take mirror off the entertainment list thanks. I guess I’d get grumpy if someone was ignoring me in the…
I’ve read that! which I have to admit was one of the things that caught my attention I used to want an African Grey as a kid :) I’m a bit worried about that, I’d like to be the flock and form that kind of bond with a bird but I’m worried that I’d screw it up in some way and it should have a companion so they can moan…
The time commitment is an important point and I have to admit the 70 year life span of a parrot makes it seem less of a plan as an adult than it did when I was a kid, I think I’ve given budgie lifespan sufficient thought though.
I think I like your budgies :) The single/multiples issue does need some thought I’d like to be able to interact with them and it seems to be easier to form a bond if you have a single but I don’t want a lonely budgie. I don’t think I have quite enough room for a large parrot size cage (I used to want a parrot as a…
As shoul be obvious to even a nitwit like me :) Thanks I was clearly having a stupid moment.
I’m torn on that point, some people are saying that if you want to interact with them a lot it’s better to have one as otherwise they’ll form a flock themselves and be largely untameable (that’s budgies I think canaries or doves you definitely need multiples as they’re never going to be people friendly) on the other…
Important point and one that previously really hadn’t registered with me in the same way as puppy mills. Don’t worry I’ve been doing my homework and investigating clubs and there’s a local chap with a flock who has a solid reputation.
Hmm thanks for the warning think I’m going to youtube some budgies singing and see if it sounds reasonable enough not to make me an outcast. I’ll keep the towel trick in mind
I’m sorry, I hope the vet can at least make her more comfortable and you guys are okay.
I guess if they’ve bonded and formed their own little flock and then they loose the other that would have to be bad. Maybe if you’ve always been their flock they’d be alright? but yeah needs some thinking about.
