I think a 1 Series with a stick will be a pretty cool car to have in the future.

I bought 3 new manual vehicles in the last 12 years for the grand total of 89K actual money paid. I am doing my part.

I thought the same thing about the e82 manual with naturally aspirated N52 straight 6, but I dont think reality matched my expectations. Lose the six for a turbo 4 and I cant imagine how this newer 2 would fair any better.

I explicitly used the “$400/mo  headline” because folks outside of our core readership are more likely to click on that rather than “Nice cars you can get for $21,000"  but I do go to explain how I arrived at that number while keeping a reasonable loan term.

So, I can pay for 3 months of one of these cars, or I can own Torch’s Changli free and clear.

This is the quality journalism I’ve come to expect from Jalopnik.

Gordon should just skip the whole collectible car appreciation thing and ask for $10 million upfront, since this will be the last analog hypercar of this age.

I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say this will be the pinnacle of pure supercars.

I think Oldsmobile could’ve done really cool things with electrification. People forget how cool their designs were in the 50's & 60's, before the cars were just an awkward blend of Saturn and Buick’s styling.

Detroit Electric lol

I love everything about this - can’t wait for more updates

Awwwww i didnt want him to know he wasted his time writing this article for at least another 30 minutes. Lol thanks a lot!!

For just one reason, France is the best.

This is probably the best driving BMW 5-series since the e39....and I owned an e39 m5 and e61 535 wagon. I give BMW credit for making a seriously good driving executive sedan.

The giant maw lower blacked out intake was less odd in the previous pre-refresh car. Grille-size being bigger = worse aside; I think this is a decent update to a car I’m not into.

Yeah but then the cars are always whining about it.

It remains a engineering competition: You have to be a better engineer to win when you have cost constraints. It’s far easier for a RB/Merc/Ferrari engineer to defeat 7 other teams because they simply have more money, more testing resources, etc.

K5 you say?
