It’s got to get to $126,571 just to break even on inflation...
Honestly, if I was the kind of person who had $35,000 cash to just drop whenever, I’d absolutely buy this.
I’m still on the lookout for old copies of Modern Shitbox, particularly the one with their all-division 1982 J-Car shootout.
It makes a ton of sense because you get V6 power and V8 torque with the fuel economy of am I4. Diesels are not like they used to be.
They kind of hit a sweet spot for people who really need to tow, but don’t exactly need a freight train/HD Diesel. My girlfriend has an Ram EcoDiesel, which is perfect for her to pull her horse trailer/two horses.
Lol so what beast do you drive that makes you say stuff like that about an s52 as if its trash? Cause usually the people I see say that stuff havent owned either of the two engines or anything interesting
If you’ve ever towed with a diesel, you’d know that they can handle loads much better than their gas counterpart. Sometimes the tow capacity is the same but the gas engine is going to be working harder(constant higher revs than unloaded) and the tranny is going to be changing gears a lot more than the diesel. Fuel…
Too slow?!? It’s a damned truck! I bought my new ‘17 Ram 4x4 crew cab 1500 ecodiesel for $33k and some change almost exactly a year ago. Which I do more ‘heavy duty’ work with (slowly, safely, and correctly mind you) than 97% of the 3/4-1 ton heavy duty truck owning public.
Really? My ‘96 Sierra is equipped with a 5.7L Vortec that puts out 250 HP and 320 ft-lbs torque. It gets up and goes decently. Even with the increase in size of the vehicle since then, the economy of this 3.0L is compelling.
The Ram 1500 gets a reported 27 mpg which is really freaking good for a truck that has the capability to tow 9600 lbs. To compare, my gasoline Sierra 1500 gets 18 mpg if I’m lucky and can only tow 7700 lbs
With all that torque and the fact that it’s a pickup truck, who the hell cares about speed. Towing capacity and using this thing as a commuter/work truck.
You talked me into it. We need F1 and Indy to run at the same time, like IMSA, but open wheel.
the Ferrari F1 team’s estimated annual budget was $470 million compared to a top team budget of $15 million in IndyCar
...11 seconds closer?!
I think you need to look at the features list to see what Mazda offers standard vs the other vehicles standard kit, especially the powertrain. The interior is certainly upmarket compared to the Corolla and Civic.
The hatchback is the better version anyway so this is acceptable.
Just wait, I’m sure it will come eventually. Mazda is one manufacturer I have faith in when it comes to that respect.
No Manual AWD?! I’m gonna throw a tantrum...
