Wow thanks for insulting my honesty and opinion all in one! If the movie had been even remotely interesting, I would've been 100% accepting of a new version. For me, the movie was so bad and forgettable, that it made me yearn for a straight adaptation. But it's entirely possible that you and many others enjoyed it.

Agreed. Just saw it today. As someone who read this series once a year for over 20 years (although I quit rereading after the 5th one because UGH), it felt like someone lifted the names and a few key phrases and dumped them into a silly sci-fi. What a shame because Idris Elba would've made a great Roland in a

I typically don't like this type of movie (car chases, shoot outs) but gave it a try. Loved it! It was a lot of fun. Between the music, silly dancing, and Jon Hamm's performance, it was much better than I expected.

You're observation is spot on. I take klonopin for anxiety. I go through one bottle of 30 pills over a six month period. They're super helpful when taken as needed, and they simply make me feel calm and normal. I never feel high or zombiefied.

I agree. If I'd read too much about it beforehand, I would not have thought I could play this at all. It's funny because my husband, an avid gamer, will get so angry at dying over and over, or having to tread carefully through a location. But I tend to laugh more the harder it seems. It really makes me appreciate my

Exactly! I love being able to take a break from work and enjoy playing my favorite game without actually playing it. And then when I'm ready to play, I can play without constant story breaks. My husband has tried to get me to play a lot of other games, but every time I watch him play, it seems like he's watching a

I am, so thanks! I'll definitely try it. I was searching for "games similar to Zelda" and that's how I found DS3. I'm glad I didn't read about how hard it is before I tried it, which is funny because now I have such an appreciation for its "tough, but fair" approach. But at first, I thought I'd wasted $80 because I

You're definitely right about that. I've found that it's the same with Zelda—the first one you played always seems better and more special. (For me, that's Majora's Mask since that's the first one I completed on my own.) I just hate that I've been missing out on it all these years! Time wasted! =)

Thanks! That's a really good way of looking at it. The straightforwardness of DS3 probably helped me, then. I should definitely play the older ones at some point. I'm looking forward to playing NGP for the first time as a 300 level so that I don't get killed as much! Although, now that I've gotten the hang of how you

This is my first Dark Souls game… in fact, I'm not much of a gamer. Other than Zelda, I've never really played anything else until DS. I wanted to find something my husband and I could play together like we do with Zelda. DS3 did not disappoint. Now my spare time is filled with playing it, reading about it, or

The only scary part was when I had my first trick-or-treater in nine years bang on the door and yell "trick-or-treat" even though all the lights were out! Needless to say, that kid did not get any candy.

My mother got rid of her cat when I was born because he liked to climb on me in the crib and she was worried he'd suffocate me.

One of my cats came from the SPCA. We were told she'd been found in a dumpster. She's the sweetest, most loving animal. One day not long after we got her, she was sitting on the arm of my chair while I was eating a grilled cheese. She snatched half my sandwich off the plate and took off with it. She didn't eat it, of

Any time in my life that I've been extremely stressed, I've had zombie nightmares I refused to watch TWD for several years… Now that I've watched the first few seasons, I'm completely over my zombie fear and haven't had a zombie nightmare since! Not sure what that says about the show or myself, but I'm glad to be

I watched Rasputin in a history class in my first semester of college and from that moment on, I was crazy about Alan Rickman. I wound up changing my major to history a few years later and always felt like Rasputin was instrumental in sparking that interest. I've made dozens of people watch it with me over the years.

"We all float down here!" Sorry, couldn't resist after reading an article on hitfix about Tim Curry's lifetime achievement award or something like that.

I agree 100%. He can be really ugly but also really beautiful—just like how Roland is described in the books at different points in his life.

I agree. And if Roland would renounce his pursuit of saving the tower, then the cycle would end and he could live out his life.

I completely agree. I took a college class on Tudor-Stuart history, and even that class skimmed over the Stuart era after spending almost the whole semester on the Tudors. I was very disappointed.

I don't get why anyone sees Danny as charming. He is so repulsive to me in every scene. If he was supposed to be my guide or instructor for anything, I'd cancel immediately. He's car salesman scheezy. And I really loathe car salesmen.
