This is honestly the first modern Lincoln I’ve been interested in.

And now Cadillac is showing up late to the party with this: an angrier Traverse.

No one ever said no to more HP.

I’m 37. Why am I lusting after a Lincoln CUV?

Well you just described the M5 just as it’s always been and had always been marketed for.

The Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye has been deemed to intimidating for average coupe buyers. Dodge has decided to reduce the horsepower of their top trim level Challenger and Charger vehicles to a more modest 195hp so that they are easier to drive for the 65+ demographic. They have done this by deactivating 6 of the

This is Jalopnik, GM is always bad here. GM makes affordable, manual, RWD sports cars? Their interiors aren’t as nice as cars 10x the price, so clearly they suck and are awful. I think GM could end world hunger and Jalopnik would find a way to complain about it.

It’s not a surprise that it outsold Cadillacs and Lincolns. Those two brands are on life support in any event. It is a surprise that it outsold all Mercedes, BMW’s and Audis though.

The face looks exactly like the Nissan EV concept.

I know. Even better than the FWD CVT crap that most of them are.

Cadillac’s answer? A FWD XT6, probably only available with a 230 hp 2.0T and 310 hp V6.

Do you realize this is a RWD crossover?

A case for a Durango SRT you made there. What is holding you back?

So basically by renaming the CT6 V-sport as the CT6-V, the actual CT6-V has been scrapped.

Making the CT6 V-Sport a full V model is a bit like BMW making the M550i and suddenly renaming it the M5 for no obvious reason. So a futile exercise in marketing?

Disagree. It was the wrong car for the time (yay Chrysler), but I maintain that for a very, veeery small portion of people it was a good car. Drove a rental one cross-country (4-cyl 9-speed) and loved the thing.

But BMWs themselves are the knockoff BMWs now. Cadillac saw the opening; they just haven't capitalized. GM has Buick for the plush style and presence.

This “fight the Germans” urban myth refuses to die. Germans didn’t win because of dynamics; they won because they are constantly reading and leading the market. Back when the 3 was their bread and butter dynamics are what sold cars. Now it’s the X3. GM for whatever reason thought it would be wise to build cars today

#AlphaPlatformFails continue. No matter which model on the platform you look at, you see the effects of GM focusing on the wrong things. In the case of the Camaro, they put C&D Lighting Lap times ahead of livability.... it has the most cramped back seat, smallest trunk, worst visibility and worst value in its segment.
