Please dont say such silly things in public when you’re clueless. This isnt a Q5 theres no service position... they share nothing besides many similarities in the engines.

Then you didnt read his post or mine if you think he covered all that.
As an owner of a Euro repair shop you need immediately replace the primary timing chain tensioner (will take you 3 hours if you're slow) and the oil separator on the valve cover or it will fail and destroy the rear main seal. Dealer parts on both! I can get you my discount and have drop shipped to you if you want.
Im curious as to how many MDS engines you are aware of with problems? I own an import repair shop and have only seen this issue on v8 GM and v8 mopar.
As a professional tech I can say I suspect the valve is bent from being hit by the piston and that is why the pushrod is bent, ive never seen a bent pushrod that didnt have a bent valve so keep that in mind if you’re buying it. Piston to valve contact can destroy cylinders and pistons and if either happen then it is…
He didnt ask a question, he said the red car is red. I believe there are no dumb questions. He made a statement he thought was brilliant in an attempt to get stars and it was a poor one.
Wow, you feel a 1,000hp custom race car wont be representative of the base stock supra! Next thing you know you’ll be telling us you think the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas is a miniaturized replica not representative of the real thing. Or maybe you want to tell us the Nascar Camry isnt representative of a stock camry?…
Dont worry david letting it sit isnt what damaged the engine so dont blame yourself for letting it sit. Unfortunately it’s still your fault because the damage came from the engine trying to compress water while running which cant be done and very likely bent a rod and trashed the bearing. So even if you hadn’t let it…
The audi quattro system uses longitudinal engine setup, this is transverse. the rear end would have to be 2 foot longer to fit it longitudinally, then proportions would be eay off this on this tiny thing.
Assuming you’re in USa. The 20v turbo you describe was 1991 only, 3b engine. trust me I know. If it was 1989 it was 10v. Pictured is 20v note the fender flares. My 1991 S2 has that engine and weighs 1000lbs less than the 200. zoom zoom
Epic story, I did the same thing except flew to England to fix my S2 that the tow truck driver that was suppose to take it to the port to export to USA switched the jumpers and blew my ecu.... except of course I had no idea what was wrong with the car just it wouldnt start.. Long story, I could write a book. I took 1…
That is clearly a picture of a different vehicle. look at the trim that wraps around the wheel. Versa doesnt have that, I believe it's a trucks fender flare.
basically every modern waterpump gasket. bolts don’t go through those gaskets
Maserati bi turbo was first production car with twin turbos and was before this thing, I already forgot the name because who cares?
I got to drive one 3 years ago but I couldnt afford, so I bought the S2 he had (also the s2 was almost able to be imported then) instead. If anyone needs an S2 to write an article about I’d gladly loan mine. Its 290hp so nearly rs2 power :) In Kansas City.
Sounds like my 1991 Audi S2 will fit in well... the only one there i bet.
Great article! I just imported an Audi S2 from the UK and have to say I love RHD in this country! You get smiles and waves everywhere, it draws more attention than my Esprit! I know at least one of you guys at Jalopnik are in KC. Let me know if you want to do a article on my beauty! curtmon03@yahoo.com
