My first though too, though she might know herself well enough to think day one Eleanor might think "what does this mean? who cares? I get to bone this hot guy" and toss it without giving it another thought. With "Find Chidi" she'll at least have this idea stuck in her mind that she's supposed to meet or find someone

Right, I'm sure if it had been a private thing it would've gone over like gangbusters, but with it being broadcast…not so much.

also, you missed Jessica Biel in underwear but google can remedy that pretty quickly

then you didn't get to see the important social message! making fun of gay people isn't cool!

I think the deal's with Happy Madison. I'm guessing the Baumbach movie is not with Happy Madison.

They're All Gonna Laugh At You made me lose my mind laughing between ages 12-15. Haven't listened to it since then, but that's some damn fine juvenile humor.

can we still save the Jessica Biel scenes from Chuck and Larry?

He didn't actually direct Devil, right? Just produced it (and wrote the story). I think he thought it was beneath him at the time, but now that seems to be kind of what he's doing is these pulpy low budget horror flicks.
I think he's an excellent visual filmmaker, but really needed to hire a co-writer or just a writer

I recently heard someone theorize that the reason Demme's films basically became mostly socially progressive dialogues post-Lambs (starting with Philadelphia) is because he felt so guilty about the LGBT reaction to Buffalo Bill, he obligated himself to making films that would be positive for the causes he cares about

I think the reaction was less "Danson is a racist" and more "Danson has kind of lost his mind"

At some point I went from being a knee-jerk synth hater (in rock songs specifically) to generally loving synths in rock songs. I think I started to connect it to the sounds of some of my favorite '80s film scores and eventually it just stopped bothering me and I grew to like it. I also noticed some of my favorite

Really, Donner should be blamed for letting that happen. Assuming it was his call and not some producer meddling in post-production.

or in the mid to late 90s found it necessary to hire a hip producer to give them some sort of sound that would help them fit in alongside grunge/post-grunge. (Albini with Plant/Page; Stones with Don Was and Dust Brothers; Kiss's Carnival of Souls album).

I think I love that song, but really only because it was used to such great effect in the TO DIE FOR trailer.

I might be the only person alive who thinks Born in the USA and Tunnel of Love (and I'm Your Man) benefit from that sound. To me it adds to the cinematic quality of the songs. It probably doesn't hurt that so many people making music today are ripping off that sound so entirely that it's begun to sound contemporary

well hey, do you wanna be the star of an FX series or not?

And Ben Stiller

The Girl Next Door was basically his Go character redux.
I liked him a lot, but he definitely got better looking. Teeth capping can take a character actor to a leading man.

I think at least part of the problem was that the script got leaked and Williamson rewrote a bunch of it, including the ending reveal, on the fly. I don't know why they bothered with that, how many people actually read the original script?

He has Thurston Moore disease where he forever looks 19 (until one day he all of the sudden looks like a 60 year old man with a 19 year old haircut).
