It often seems that the nuns of any religious order tend to be the more progressive of the faith. Since they tend to be the ones who do the ‘in the field’ work they see more of what is actually going on and are more influenced by that. It’s of course not true of all nuns, and is dependent on the order, etc etc.

I’ve always respected and admired nuns. (Not entirely sure why, but Mom went to Catholic school for eight years and was taught by actual, wimple-wearing, ruler-wielding nuns, so that could have something to do with it.)

Hey, that's a shitty take you got there, mind telling us more?

Sharing that you wanted your wife to abort your daughter is pretty far over the line. I agree that the Kardashians make their money on oversharing and much of it is pretty gross and idiotic. But it’s also mostly pretty harmless and relates to just themselves. This is a revelation that will cause real pain to that

Seriously. I was a (young) adult when my mom told me she thought seriously about aborting my sister, who is my favorite person in the world. I am staunchly pro-choice and sympathize with her struggle, but I wish she had kept that shit to herself because it was difficult to process even in my twenties. Poor North.

I live in MA and someone’s wifi network in range is named “Bailey4Senate” so clearly this nefarious plan has been put into motion.

I’m a teacher and a fellow Wishbone-celebrator. When students come hang in my classroom during lunch, I put Wishbone up on the Smartboard. They DIE at the 90s everything, but then they get all caught up in the story and don’t want to leave. (These are 7th and 8th graders, by the way - so they’re too cool for

When my brother was in law school, he said that this show and Lambchop’s Playalong were the highlight of his day, because they came on during the break in his classes, so I’m imagining it went something like Torts, Contracts, (bike home) muhfucking Wishbone & Lambchop, Civil Procedure, then legal research/writing all

Right? I have a hunch Jared has already suggested using Excel! Joke is on them when they try to enter a number that starts with a zero! Those Boston zip codes are going to fuck this administration!

Is this closure? Is this story now more sad or less sad? Was there some insane chance she would somehow turn up ok?

The new name should be the “ Washington Lumberjacks” in reference to George Washington cutting down a cherry tree, but mostly for Dan Snyder cutting down a lot of trees on National Park land and enabled by a park ranger who Trump has promoted to National Parks Director.

They should honor the team’s proud tradition of success by renaming them the “Washington Losers”.

a show of incredible mental acuity that doctors found both surprising and “unbelievable.”

In the wake of this “second wave” (really, first wave part two) there’s been this narrative that “young people” are getting infected at higher rates because they’ve decided to go out partying to the bars that are open to them or they’re hosting parties at their own homes. Therefore, young people, you better behave and

I understand how you may have read it that way. As I said, I grew up on a lake boating, tubing, skiing, jet skiing, etc. I saw tons of accidents and even experienced a few myself — like being an idiot teen jet skiing with a teen boy and not wearing my life jacket because I thought I looked “cooler” without it. He hit

Never go alone. So many easy to prevent accidents happen because people go alone. having a 4 year old does not count and is even more of a reason not to go a lone. This happens often at the lake near our house. I think we had one July 4th where someone didn’t drown and it was record. Usually we get a death before and

Man Hannibal is terrific.  It can be hard to watch if you’re squeamish (which I totally am!), but the show is so sumptuous and the cast so terrific that it’s worth it.

I had a huge soft spot for Kristy in this version. The way they showed her processing her emotions around her mom’s relationship with Watson, her Dad, and her friends was so well done.

1776 was at The Muny (the big outdoor theater in St Louis) last year, and I made a point of going to see it, having NOT seen it since we all watched the movie in 8th grade

I still like 1776 better. Maybe due to my age or that I’ve just seen it more. Yeah, it skips over a lot of the problematic nature of many of the founding fathers, but Molasses to Rum is a pretty searing indictment of not just slavery but the complicity of the north in benefiting economically from the triangle trade.
