Trans people can be assholes, too.

I know I wouldn’t be here without advances in medicine: my mother would’ve died in childbirth with my older sister if she wasn’t able to have a c-section. (She wasn’t really built to deliver the big-headed babies she had.)

I’ve said so many times that it’s a miracle humans have lasted this long, given how often our bodies have no idea what to do during pregnancy, childbirth and child-rearing (specifically breastfeeding). Criminalizing something that happens naturally all the time isn’t going to end well.

I just ate chapulines a few weeks ago (at Toloache 50 in Manhattan) and...they were pretty tasty. My biggest issue, other than being presented with a plate that was obviously covered in grasshoppers, was when the legs would get stuck in my throat. Otherwise I really enjoyed them.

I’ve never been a full-time teacher, but I’ve worked in after-school programs and now work part-time as a swim instructor, and this really makes me reflect on how I (a white woman) interact with young Black girls. I am not currently teaching any, and the last one I clearly remember having was the sweetest

One of my fondest memories is of playing this game with my mom and her friend, who was a very flamboyantly gay man. He joked about getting the “oooo, long line! Try again later!” in more than one store, eventually saying that the bank would tell him “drop dead, Jimmy!”

And that’s such bullshit! It’s especially hard for people in sports that are only popular around the Olympics, and track and field is an even more crowded sport than swimming. If you’re not Usain Bolt, no one knows who you are. (I’m also including myself in that group. I don’t follow track, and even after watching the

Nike is also a big shop that can - and does - sponsor athletes across a wide range of sports. They don’t need Montaña to be their face, or even a face. This is really different from swimsuit companies, who are obviously way more limited in their opportunities to sponsor athletes. That’s why Dana Vollmer not only

The idea of a tiny baby being the Earl of Dumbarton is so funny to me.

Should we assume Thomas is out?

A scene straight outta Big Daddy.

Women are a protected class in sports. Take away the limitations and definitions of what makes one a woman in sports and female athletes suffer.

That’s okay! I know victim blaming is a huge issue and am not surprised you’ve seen a lot connected to this story. I was blaming the structures that were supposed to keep these students safe.

I’m not blaming the victims! I’m blaming the Dean who was like “yeah we’ve received complaints but I can’t do anything about it.” I’m sorry, what??

But anyway this story was bananas. How does the school have no control over an adult who is not enrolled in the college living on campus????

I don’t generally wear heels because I find them uncomfortable. I live in NYC, walk and stand on the subway and don’t generally want to either wear flats and change or keep shoes in my office. (I do carry a change of shoes with me if it’s raining or snowing and I’m wearing appropriate weather shoes.)

1) Yes. As someone approaching 33 with no romantic history, I’d love to know that it’s okay.

I wish I had my friend document my first time eating chapulines on Friday. That would’ve been my best ‘gram ever.

Did she beat it up? I can’t remember if she did.

Didn’t Diana also have extra-marital affairs?
