I have a really understanding wife. And my shop is connected to my office, so I sneak down there at lunch :)
I’m expecting about 50-70 miles if I’m not pushing it too hard. It’s a light chassis. I’ll do some testing when the snow melts.
COTD.
I still have to cool the motor and inverter, they generate a significant amount of heat under heavy load (1,000 amps or more).
How to improve Tesla build quality.
I think it’s wonderfully silly.
Now imagine working on those things. Basically just scale the tools up. That being said, the 3/4" drive breaker bar will break bolts on a car. My favorite thing is the dance to get the tire on and off the rim, since its tools and not a machine doing it.
Torch, I would gladly give any of y’all a true look into trucking, that includes a trip across Texas just so you can write about it (the good, the bad and the ugly). Hit me up!
Ditto. Cash and strangely Hill/McGraw are just fine by me.
I bet that was an epic trip. Normally I don’t like country music, but Cash is one of the few exceptions.
He is not, but he knows the song. I have ~400 Johnny Cash songs in my collection. I’ve done road trips (in a previous car) where the 6-disc changer was all Johnny Cash. Especially when that trip was in an all black F-350 crew cab long bed dually.
Is your son a Johnny Cash fan, by any chance?
This sounds like the basis of a joke my 7-year-old would tell.
That’s more power than some VW Beetle’s had!
33kw?! man alive. I don’t know how much HP shifter carts have but 45 hp from something that small is pretty nutty.
While they’re at this whole shoebox-sized rotary engine as a range extender thing, they should see about selling it as a standalone go-kart motor.
The first half of this headline is pure bliss.
To be fair, Kerbal Space Program has a lot of issues with insane jiggling unless you slap a dozen struts onto every single piece of the vehicle.
