Flintstones wasn’t a kid’s show though.

It was an adult animated sitcom that aired in prime time. Since the 80's it has been marketed as a children’s program but that was never the intent.
Plus this was the early 1960's, they were still using the traditional radio-style advertisements over the way we see modern day

Can’t wait for Wreck-It Ralph 3: Dark Net. Ralph gets busted in a Bitcoin scam and for trying to order a hit on his ex-wife.

Now playing

marketing Amazon to the kids huh? reminds me of something.

Given how little of an impact said toxic nerds and their boycotts had on other movies that made bajillions of dollars (The Last Jedi, Fury Road, etc.) I don’t think you can attribute Solo’s lack of profits to them. It seems more like it was the usual cocktail of middling reviews, blockbuster competition, nicer

I think you’re underestimating the number of people who still fucking love star wars but didn’t care to see a Han solo origin story. Or see someone else try to take over for Ford. Or would have rather seen a lando movie. Or would have rather seen a boba fett movie.....Or any character who wasn’t clearly only

on the other hand, I once went a year without eating chicken wings. Then one day I decided to eat chicken wings. And they were delicious. Then I ate them again the next day. and the next and the next. By the fifth day, I was good for go another year without eating a chicken wing.

I’m not sure I’m behind you for every specific thing you said, but I support the passion with which you said it.

Alternate headline:

Weekend Box Office: No go for Solo show, low blow as Disney’s beau loses glow.

Weekend Box Office: In its second week, Solo could have used more accompaniment

We get it, you’re triggered by Buzzfeed.

Honey, I’ve been following the AV Club since the stone age, when Films That Time Forgot roamed the earth, and the only cancer around here is and has always been pissy, self-appointed arbiters of good taste like you.

Jesus Christ, get your negativity right the fuck outta here.

We get it, your straight

You sound nice. Who cares why they’re covering this show? The important thing is that they are.

Oh this looks really coo—”Ryan Murphy production”

I can tell you now this is going to be a primary complaint with the film. But sometimes lurid art can hit truths that more tasteful art can’t. We’ll see.

I’ll definitely see that. I love Brian de Palma. Even a bad de Palma film is worth watching.

De Palma is obviously a talented director, but I am not sure I trust the guy behind Body Double and Dressed to Kill to handle this story with the appropriate sensitivity.

Brian De Palma presents The Touchables.
