I’m not a furry, but started viewing them with sympathy after learning how many of them are deeply screwed-up people, frequently seeking to escape from some kind of trauma in their human lives. If dressing up as an animal is what they need to do to find their happy place, more power to them.

As another non-American, I only found out about this bizarre story after learning that Kerrigan was the name inspiration for the StarCraft character. (Wait - if you were born in the mid-90s, you probably won’t remember StarCraft...)

Sounds like you didn’t try very hard.

The fact that it’s not that well-remembered is what makes it a good choice for a remake. The familiar title helps sell it, but there’s great creative freedom to tell whatever stories you like.

Don’t know about Lady Bird, but Brooklyn is well worth seeing. Grand Budapest Hotel too, though she only has a small role in it.

The sad thing is that (IMO) Spacey’s performance as Luthor is one of the few highlights of Superman Returns. Possibly the only highlight.

I’m not sure if this is a sign that I’m growing out of action movies, but I found Fury Road’s non-stop action almost entirely boring. I recognise that it’s a very well-made movie, but it just did nothing for me. Maybe if I’d seen it as a teenager I’d have loved it; but these days I prefer my movies to have more things…

This is true criticism of other movies, but honestly I found it to be true of Fury Road as well. IMO, it achieves a similar level of over-the-top boring intensity, even though very little of it is actually CGI.

Glad to see I’m not the only one. I was bored by this movie.

I remember people used to say calling Obama ‘well-spoken’ was a kind of backhanded racist comment, because being able to speak eloquently should be unremarkable in a President... turns out, not so much.
