It’s more just hope than anything else, that truth would win in the end. But there certainly have been cases of people being wrongfully accused of sexual offences and ultimately exonerated. There have been some high-profile cases in the UK recently, which ended with large compensation payments being made by police to

I don’t believe I said anywhere that anyone should be legally punished without being put on trial. I’m not saying anything in the law should be changed regarding sexual offences: ‘innocent until proven guilty’ should of course remain the legal standard. Just that maybe we should change our social attitudes regarding

What’s your proposed alternative? Note: it must be at least as cool and memorable as ‘hoverbike’.

I love the fact that although this game almost certainly never existed, some people claim to remember it. It reminds me of ‘Candle Cove’.

Nah. The best option is impeach Trump, impeach Pence, keep on impeaching down the line of succession until you reach a non-corrupt president who’s prepared to respect the constitution.
Or just say ‘fuck it’ and overthrow the whole system. Hey, it’s good to have ambitious goals!

Even if we accept that the porn business is inherently evil (which, for the record, I don’t) - wouldn’t it be worth encouraging someone to use their ill-gotten gains for good purposes? Flynt would hardly be the first person to build a record of philanthropy on the back of riches acquired through dubious means. That

It turns out, not everyone loves a trier.

That’s not news, similar stories/rumours were being reported some time ago. But did anything actually happen with that Bryan Singer case? As I recall, there were some pretty serious allegations made there...

...Yeah, there’s no way in hell I’m watching that video. It’s kind of gross and ghoulish even to post it.

I’ve given this some thought, and I disagree. I think rumours and allegations about things like sexual abuse should be taken *more* seriously, and people making allegations should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, the whole thing is richly ironic: an evil abuser who gets away with it because he’s too powerful and well-connected to prosecute. (Er, spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen it.) It’s like Polanski was hiding himself in plain sight.

My favourite suggestion is that they should reduce the maximum character count by one character every week.

After 30 years, you get used to it.

‘The public’ and ‘Hollywood’ are not the same thing... and it doesn’t really matter what the former thinks as long as the latter still loves him.

Yeah. I mean, Polanski got his share of the royalties when I bought Chinatown on DVD, he’s not getting more every time I watch it. It does get a bit harder to enjoy each time though, given the, well, plot of that movie...

When I was a teen, I did James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause. OK, it’s an old movie and a pretty generic look, but I was still disappointed that nobody got it. :(

Hey, cut him a break. The dude had a *lot* of people to pay off.

At least this time they got the asshole while he’s still alive.

Twitter’s weak excuse for this is that as a major public figure, Trump’s tweets are an important part of the historical record and must be preserved, even when they’re threatening nuclear war.

I think the awkward thing is setting a sci-fi story in an ‘Asianised’ future with strikingly few Asians in it, at least in prominent roles. (As opposed to, you know, just setting it in Asia.) It means you can have this film that’s ‘like Japan, but with white people!’
