I'm just dreading the day when Disqus gets hacked. That's going to be embarrassing for all of us. I mean, I could take my friends and family learning my disgusting fetishes, but not my views on Zack Snyder…

Art movies, you say? Do go on…

Gary Oldman is apparently up for Churchill next. You wouldn't have thought it would work, but from the looks of it they've done a remarkable job with the prosthetics…

There's a famous photo somewhere of a very young Prince Charles, at something like age four, greeting his mother with a formal handshake. That kind of sums up what it was like.

This is probably heresy for some people, but I thought she was easily the best part of Wolf Hall.

'Gamergate' ruined a lot of things…

I know it feels like Chastain has been in every film recently, but she wasn't in that one. You're thinking of Bryce Dallas Howard.

I wish that were true, but don't you remember the ridiculous furore over Top Gear? Something like a million furious people signed a petition to bring back the host of a driving show. We have no moral high ground here.

The difference being that Black Mirror doesn't have a regular cast who can refuse to move channel. Netflix got lucky with that one.

Mel and Sue at least have been very clear about their commitment to the BBC, so that would seem unlikely. Not to mention kind of hypocritical.

Legally, yes. Just like the new Top Gear is technically still Top Gear. In practice, the viewers may have a different opinion.

Battersea, more like Battery, amirite?
(Sorry, there's got to be a better joke there somewhere.)

I wouldn't mind seeing Hammond cry.

He's the rare politician who had an interesting life story, and wrote a good book, before he'd even imagined running for President. Even if he'd never gone into politics, Dreams from my Father would still be worth reading in its own right.

"mark my words, he will be the best president this country sees in our lifetime."
That shows a depressing lack of ambition, either for the country or your lifetime. I hope you're wrong on both counts!
(I think Obama has been reasonably good overall, but the US can do better.)

I remember watching Alien a few years ago with my sister, who hadn't seen it before. She knew about the chestburster scene, because everyone and their dog knows about that, but it took her by surprise that Ash was a goddamn robot. It's always nice when a movie has more than one trick up its sleeve.

Hmm, the reviews I've read of the production here in London have been mixed. We're getting Hamilton in 2017, and I'll definitely take that trade.

Well, Superman came before Batman, so I wasn't counting it. It is another example of a great theme.

It's a crying shame that no superhero movie has had a theme tune to match Danny Elfman's for Batman. Say what you like about Tim Burton, he understood that comic book movies are basically operas and should have grand, bombastic themes to go with it.

'a local sheriff pulled up in the middle of the night to do a quick dab for the camera'
I've just realised I've become one of those old uncool people who sees words and has no idea what they mean.
