Yeah, but on the flip side, Zemo didn't really do anything, he was just the source of conflict in others. Like a human version of Loki's staff from the first movie. I felt like they were building up to him doing something cool, but he never did. I want my comic book villains to have nefarious schemes which get

That might have felt a bit like unintentionally ripping off Batman v Superman at this point.

"Marisa Tomei is, of course, far too hot"

Yeah, this movie took a long time to get going. I feel like I could have come in halfway through and not missed much. But the final third is just about strong enough to make up for it.

Regarding Wanda, I just want to note how much I dig her costume design. It's reminiscent of her comic look enough to be recognisable, but practical enough to look like something somebody would actually wear. (Also, fingerless gloves are cool.)

I liked Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker and still feel he was a bit hard done by, so I was ready to hate the new kid, but I have to say Spider-man works really well in this movie. It's probably the most true-to-the-comics version of the character yet.

It would have been an amazing thing to keep hidden, but in the modern world it's just not possible for a big movie to keep a secret like that under wraps. In which case they may as well chuck it in the trailer.

Ah, dammit! I keep forgetting about post-credits scenes. I missed the one in Ant-Man (which was actually just a clip from this movie), and forgot to stay again here. Oh well, it's probably on Youtube.

He did listen at him at least once, judging by this story about him getting Prince and Stevie Wonder to play a private party at the White House:

Thanks to XKCD, I will never not read that as 'grown ass-man'.

"Shame that it got cancelled even despite winning "best drama" BAFTA"

I still don't quite understand how she became famous in the first place. I mean, I understand she's a model, but I've never quite got how you become famous by wearing clothes.

Elba would be OK if he took over now, but they don't want to cast a guy they can use for 'two or three' movies. They want to cast a guy for the next five or six. By that time, he'd be way too old. Yes, that's exactly what happened with Roger Moore, but let's not repeat our mistakes.

Speaking of judges, Perlman would also have made a great Judge Dredd. He has the chin for it.

He's already mentioned in the article in another context, but 'young Elijah Wood' would have been my choice for Scott Pilgrim. He could have done the manic enthusiasm that Cera didn't really have.

Robocop and Total Recall both had positive reviews on release, more positive than anything Snyder's done. And I just discovered that both won Oscars!

Well, I don't know enough about Ancient Greece to be entirely sure of myself here, but I thought Sparta basically was a militarised state. Leonidas wasn't just the general, he was the king. Wasn't he?

As one of those who thinks 300 had a pro-fascist message, I would agree that Bryan Singer's X-Men movies do have a 'stealth' progressive message. I don't think there's anything hidden about it though; Singer openly admitted that he uses mutants as a metaphor for LGBT people, and the films have a very clear message

I can't think of anything Snyder's done that could be called 'self-reflective'. Nor anything that has any of the ironic wit of Starship Troopers.

Zack Snyder does not understand the concept of 'no-kill codes'. To him, killing bad dudes is just what comic book heroes do.
