Came here for this. Was not disappointed.

This is the first thing that came to mind. Basically anything with a slant 6 will rust away before the engine quits. I’ve never really figured out why they are so durable. Is it the oiling system? Low redline? Superior rod ratio? Excellent cooling system design?
I built basically the same thing from a sprinkler valve, small power supply (wall-wart) and a smart plug. Pretty simple setup with Alexa to control it and put together a routine.
Not true. There’s a picture of stairs...without any storage whatsoever.
As has been documented on Twitter by The Volatile Mermaid @OhNoSheTwitnt
I’ve always wondered this. Delays in air travel are inevitable but, at a certain point, when passenger needs are not being met, what’s stopping someone from calling 911 and saying that their being held against their will? At what point does it go from an inconvenience to kidnapping? And who has jurisdiction? According…
Glad it’s been found.
I totally agree - if it’s the knotty pine paneling shown in the photo. That stuff is retro and classy IMHO. If it’s the fake wood paneling (think mobile home), rip it out or cover it up.
*IF* the metering lights are configured properly, there will be ample room to accelerate to the flow of traffic. This is because they are only used during times of high congestion when the flow of traffic onto the freeway needs to be METERED to maintain flow. They should never be active when traffic is flowing at or…
I’m going NP on this one. I think that this vintage of Commando is undervalued. If this were a Bronco or Scout, everyone here would give it a NP. As the article states, it’s just the Jeep version of the same thing. Parts are not hard to find and/or can be fabricated easily since almost every panel is flat. The entire…
Agreed. I’m not a huge fan of SBC’s being dropped into everything but it is better than an LS here. The AT is an absolute deal-killer. Plus, if the axles weren’t upgraded from stock, they probably won’t last long behind the V8. Especially the D44, which I believe may be the same 2-piece hub/axle design of the CJ’s. In…
So, we’re like halfway back to here?
My college group of friends had a GL500 that got traded around like a dirty whore. Initially discovered under the deck of a rental property owned by someones dad, resurrected and ridden, passed on to the next user, etc. About owner #3, the Windjammer II fairing was retired. Then, it took a spill off a homemade carrier…
1000%
Coulda just made the door 6" longer and solved BOTH problems.
HOWEVER, if you actually read the article that you linked, you’ll notice that:
Overall, I think this is a good step. However, as some have pointed out, industries like logging are going to be put in a bind until technology catches up. Also, have fun with that battery powered generator and pump when the next heatwave/brownout/wildfire occurs.
Uhh, yeah WTF AMC?
Better than that, you can bolt on FI and a blower from a 3800 from a Grand Prix for an easy 260HP. More with the aforementioned cam, exhaust, etc.
