I just pulled that pic off the intarwebz. I have had a similar failure in my car. I'd driven up to the Dallas area for the day and when I got back in the car to go home, my mirror looked all bubbly. It was summer and warm, but it wasn't ridiculous.

That's a BMW self dimming mirror that has had a failure in the self-dimming layer. After a while (13 years for my M Coupe) the liquid crystal layer can go wrong. The fix isn't terribly expensive. I paid about $100 to get mine fixed. The only thing you have to watch for is a leak. If the liquid leaks out (mine did)…
