So hacking isn't cool anymore?

Blu-ray and DVDs output in YCbCr format, which is a different color standard than RGB, and most Movie modes are tailored for it. So if you use that picture mode for an RGB signal, it does make the whites muddy.

Right on, I get what you were saying about Best Buy now. Vivid is really good only for wowing customers on the showroom floor.

Yep, turn that shit OFF for gaming.

On most TVs the Vivid mode blows out the contrast and oversaturates the colors, and sometimes bakes in effects like dynamic contrast and DNR that you can't turn off if you're using that setting.

Whoops, yeah, refresh the page, should be there now. My HTML game is not strong this morning.

I've been having decision fatigue on what to play next. I just beat the Titanfall 2 campaign (which was the tits, by the way!), and I've got a ridiculous stack of games I bought on Black Friday.

Also, a lot of people have their systems on the wrong RGB settings for their TV (some can do the full range like a PC monitor, some don't, and you're never going to find the answer in the TV's manual).

If only this utopian 1999 future had come true, there would have been no Jar Jar Binks.

They weren't hurting, believe me. A local promoter once told me what their minimum guarantee was, and it made me feel for my friends who were original musicians trying to scrape by. There's gold in them there cover songs!

Ha, The Molly Ringwalds finally made the list. They've been bringing non-threatening '80s covers to the masses of Louisiana-Mississippi-Alabama for probably a decade.

Wherever you go, there are lawyers.

I heard this anecdotally, from a message board, so its validity is suspect—but supposedly the original monster design was so grotesque that kids were crying and parents were walking out of the theater during the first test screening.

The BM That Never Comes

For Whom the MedAlert Bracelet Tolls

Yeah, in the options you can choose between higher resolution or high frame rate. (At least on First Light, I assume Second Son got the same since it's basically the same game engine).
