I’d imagine in many cases these days, a painting like this begins with a photography session, and the artist working on it afterward, rather than the more traditional “long sitting.” I’m sure both are options, depending on the artist, but I feel like if I were to do it, I’d want to find a really good boudoir…

Same. This is the first time for me where the direction of a Predator sequel feels RIGHT. It feels like it’s working in harmony in terms of setting, tone, and premise.

It sounds like you have lots of stigmae around what it means to be an auteur that aren’t necessarily accurate. Do you hate Barry Jenkins? David Lynch? 

It’s a dumb distinction but I wouldn’t have thought about Hitchcock because he does “suspense”. But I totally agree. Hitch for sure.

Tourneur’s best  horror movie is probably Curse of the Demon, though I love those B horror movies  he made in the 1940s, including Bedlam and Isle of the Dead
