The New York Times Op Ed actually made some really fantastic points

But cis women who are infertile are the first to point out that not ALL women can give birth, so I don't think you can really lay this on trans people.

For Bay, a movie is a pretense for spectacular action sequences, not narrative or worldbuilding. (The same might be said of Abrams’ Star Trek movies, which were written by some of the same people.) I never saw any of the Transformers movies past the original, but from what I understand there was never any real attempt

Yeah, we haven’t faced the real test of how much Dylan speaking out has hurt his viability as a filmmaker, because he hasn’t released anything resembling a good movie in a very long time, so it’s hard to tell if people staying away is moral condemnation, or just recognition that his movies aren’t good anymore. If the

So he’s not religious or spiritual but he believes in God and regularly attends church, and he’s not homophobic but he’s turning a blind eye to homophobia because he likes his church and his pastor and homophobia doesn’t really affect him. Got it.

Trans person writes review providing opinion based on personal experience.

the experiences that tenser experiences are trans experiences. it’s not really ‘stretching the metaphor’ if the first line that is said to this character is “there’s a new hormone in your system.” like... that’s what happens when trans people medically transition, it’s not a stretch if it’s obvious.

Anyone who complains about “Unobtainium” in Avatar( even though that is an actual slang term ) should refuse to see any movie that has a large dinosaur namedGigantosaurus” in it based on principals alone.

I have a soft spot for the Anderson series. Apocalypse is my favorite of the 6 and I’m torn between Afterlife and Retribution. I saw Afterlife in 3D Dbox and that was an amazing experience. Then Retribution I saw in IMAX but I can’t remember if it was in 3D or not...I’m pretty sure it was.

I pretty much just love the first and the third. Felt they leaned too heavily into all CG after that.

The other things she’s busy doing are legit in the article lol

He’s not wrong about the questions about how American Gigolo looks in 2022. I *hope* that’s part of what the show plans to explore. I assume that must be what they have to say about the whole thing.

*walks outside to the park nearby*: “Wow I’m getting some real Breath of the Wild vibes from this.”

As opposed to all these anti-American films that have been killing it at the box office?

Also just two things: 1.) The star of this film is in a literal UFO cult, I don’t know how much more “Hollyweird” one can get; 2.) Who is confused in this scenario? The Hollywood studio that greenlit this $150 million film? Were
