Let’s not overlook another piece of the puzzle: Disney inherited this film from Fox Searchlight during the 2019 merger. And they don’t seem especially eager to support holdover projects.

I liked the 2018 remake. The decision to have Jamie Lee Curtis return to the series as a haunted survivalist was great. And the tone was uncomfortable, in its mixture of horror and cringe comedy, but it felt purposeful, in that the little human foibles felt so petty in the face of Michael’s rampage.
Anyone else notice that it’s the comics writers with careers outside comics who speak out about Marvel’s problems? Steven DeKnight has a long list of credits in television, on some high-profile shows like Daredevil and Buffy. He may be passionate about comics, but he doesn’t have to start over if his time in the…
The story is the singular reason why Other M is so reviled.
Going to lean in here and make note to anyone reading that the biggest criticism of this game is an entirely subjective one.
In other words, Marvel is experimenting with making lead roles queer in a way that can be strategically excised for the Chinese market while gaining more credence in the west than the fucking Skywalker kiss.
This janky-ass game really made my day during last year’s pandemic doldrums. I work in education, so before I managed to get vaccinated I really couldn’t mess around with public places. I had a lot of time to pour into an online campaign with my brother, who was also not interested in braving the nose-proud masses.
Ouija: Origin of Evil has got to be one of the best surprises in contemporary horror. With a title like that, the movie ought to be an embarrassment, but it cares about its characters and it uses their cynicism to disarm all the misgivings that come with the premise.

Awards shows are a holdover from an era when entertainment options were limited and narrow and it was incumbent on the industry to recognize “good” entertainment as a means of justifying their own self-regard.
Finally, the fantasy elements appear to be inspired by Chinese wuxia films...
When I clicked, I was not expecting this level of into-the-weeds detail. Now, with all of this in mind, I’m probably still gonna get gibbed by middle-schoolers. The ravages of time have been gentler to Quake than to my reflexes.
I’d love to enjoy AVP Requiem, I really do. Specially with the whole following a lone wolf Predator cleaning up after the Aliens...
Requiem always felt like a grindhouse exploitation flick to me, which I actually respect in a lot of ways.
The only fault I see with Predators is that it could have used a wee bit more Danny Trejo. Other than, it really is a damn fun movie.
I was very influenced by seventies filmmaking techniques—we shot using zooms a lot!
X-men, who weren’t really involved in Civil War, but was ruined itself by House of M, and saved by Whedon and Morrison...
Removing annoying emotes, limiting which skins can be used, and removing loading screen tips that talk about headshots would be a good start if Epic truly wants to use Fortnite as a tool to educate.
You know, why not? I just hope that the movie turns out to be a little more interesting than Birds of Prey, which for its entire runtime was this close to being a lot of fun.
