I preferred Skyrim's take on mer races, with exaggerated skulls, eyes, etc. This creator just looks like regular humans with different colored skin. Very generic.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. I'm a bit of an idort, and will end up getting GTA on PC for mods. It's just another angle of the "console wars" of which, whether they like it or not, PC users are dead in the middle of.

that's why they are not marketing it to you. It's supposed to be a handhold for people interested into getting into PC gaming without all the complexities.
