Don’t these people know better than to get on a bus with Keanu Reeves?
Don’t these people know better than to get on a bus with Keanu Reeves?
Last year, Gizmodo Media Group editorial had layoffs. But because we’re unionized, we were able to get a seat at the table to ensure that we were all kept informed, and we convinced our parent company Univision to instead offer buyouts, allowing those who wanted to leave the company to leave by choice (with 4 months…
“Why even try to fight back when there’s a chance you’ll lose?” is not an argument that has ever served anyone well.
Everyone needs to unionize. Everyone. Every single person needs to be in a union.
“Excellent, I was hoping for a VR game sequel to a 25 year old movie!”

Hahaha unionizing to protect a game they didn’t create that is functionally not profitable?
Why should the players get severance? They’re not official Blizzard employees. If players want severance, they should ask their team owners about it. Since they’re the ones that employed the players.
Casters should get severance however, unless they’re freelancers like how Monte, Doa, and PapaSmithy were when it came…
As pro-union as I am, I don’t see how a union would force a developer to continue production on a game. Sure the NBA players have a union, but they don’t have to worry about the NBA removing resources from basketball to start making slamball the next big thing. The inherent problem with “big” esports is that they are…
I have a huge issue with the idea of severance on this. These people were essentially independent contractors. I follow streamers, I Sub on various platforms, but blizzard is in no way beholden to these people.
Mine too! I played as a strong black woman. The thing all religious zealot rednecks fear most.
The deputy was customizable, and mine was a woman.
I like that his commitment to the role is so enduring, even his response to the news story was effulgent.
Why not? A woman can be a feminist and a horrible wife who cheats on her husband. Since when does feminist equal ‘flawless human being’?
Not blaming her for the affair, that’s obviously an asshole move on his part. But that has nothing to do with the characters he creates. He can be an imperfect, and even a shitty human being in his personal life and still be a feminist advocate.
Thank you.
He does walk the walk—he creates good, equal jobs for women.
Same thoughts. He is (arguably) an excellent writer and has created both male and female characters that are multidimensional and well loved. His material has struck a cord with many over the years (especially young women) and he has promoted female leads in most of his work.
I’m not sure there’s anything particularly feminist about monogamy. I’m not even sure if they’re related at all. Put another way, if you can be a feminist and manizing cheater then you certainly can be a feminist and a womanizing cheater.
Yeah, they are completely different sets of issues.
