I would be very leery of any places like that with these, the VW spec 507.00 for these TDIs is hard to come by and I find most places don’t carry it at all.

I previously had about eight storage file boxes filled with mint brochures from vehicles in the ‘90s and ‘00s. I used to go to all the local dealerships and collect them in addition to calling and writing for additional materials. I wanted to have a collection that I could look back on someday or share with others.…
No problem! While the system can/tends to fail it’s actually pretty easy to remove and replace/upgrade with a setup for the standard Land Cruiser.
Lucky man, I can only dream of finding one like that! My aunt and uncle have an ‘05 LX that just sits throughout the year until winter when they drive it only when it snows. Unfortunately that means Ohio salt and it has more rust than I’d allow :/ but they won’t part with it. Same two individuals GAVE my mom a ‘98 LC…
how?! tell me your ways.
It’s one of the differences but it’s actually a hydraulic system, not air.
My two contributions to this are my ‘98 4Runner that I later found out was totaled, rebuilt, and then exported to the UAE. What a good truck, it’s a shame it met its demise so soon :/
Certain titles now just stick out as a David article, and they very rarely disappoint!
David, I thought I was the only one who felt this way about the Torrent! While an overall uninspiring vehicle, the design has always struck a chord with me. It was infinitely more attractive to me than the Equinox, and I do enjoy it when I see one every once in a blue moon.
I was surprised to see this when I was there and shocked at how elaborate they modified everything.
How does that art project DJ that was in Toledo look now?? ;)
came here for this. was not disappointed.
This makes me sad, I get the low take rate statistics, even still, the F30 320i Manual with the sport pack was actually a pretty decent car to drive. It seemed more akin to older BMWs vs some of the other current offerings.
Back when I took a manual trans and driveline class the professor cracked open a small bottle of friction modifier and set it somewhere inconspicuous. He then just sat back and watched peoples faces cringe as the smell made its way through the crowd.
I did! and all I could think of the entire time is why the heck did the PO not get that fixed under the recall...or why it may have been ineligible!
I’m starting to wonder if he’s more attracted to Jeeps or rust! ;D
Interesting! So no real benefit besides some sentimental value to trying to keep it all together as is...
Is numbers matching something that is really relevant on something like this? Trying to keep it THAT original?? I’ll feel the same way if I ever get to the point of having to rebuilt the motor in my cruiser.
