Does the U.S. have a single “creative midfield playmaker” type? A guy like Mata, Silva, Fabregas, Payet, etc... - someone who can hold the ball and provide a defense splitting pass? I think that’s the real lack in U.S. Soccer - a lack of a true technician in the middle.

One way to do it is like what they do in Germany - put Union reps on the board of directors. That way there is a dialogue between the workers an the ownership and the workers can “tighten their belts” if necissary, if it means saving the company from failure. 

That’s a great point about offsetting capital gains taxes. Classic case of penny wise pound foolish. Whenever government offices make projections like these, they don’t take into account how people will react. The capital gains tax IS in effect already a financial transactions tax.
