Exactly! The time of fart cannons on old Hondas and VWs is long behind us. The loudest cars I hear are assholes in their recent new-money AMG/M/RS douchemobiles, with their artificial popping and banging exhausts while accelerating for one second on city streets. Precisely. Nobody is forcing them to do this. They are electing to do this over the alternative: have a naturally quiet car.

In order to not drill some holes in the front bumper cover, some people use a license plate frame that screws into the tow-hook mount which is usually offset to one side of the car.

There is a technical reason for this. If you don't want to drill holes in your bumper, one way to get around that is to install your plates onto a bracket screwed into your front row hook. That's what my good friend does with her Jaguar.

My city is full of tools in newish AMG sedans/crossovers ripping around making WAY more noise than my S2000 with a full aftermarket exhaust. That’s just not even reasonable.

India is out of options. When you’re literally choking grandmas to death on diesel fumes, that has a way of chainsawing through red tape. It’ll be interesting, though, to see how rapidly it decarbonizes, and just who gets angry about it.
