Alright, just to take a step back: I do appreciate efforts to have a conversation on issues. Too often the most-celebrated comments are smarmy one-liners, even for serious stories. But (at least to me) you did come across as condescending, even if that was not your intention. I’m willing to call it quits if you are.

As

Option B is a bad idea. It’ll pay a player less AND force them to play out of position for at least half a season.

There is no spoon

Passed balls by definition are on the catcher.  Wild pitches on the pitcher.  I know that’s not what you meant, but I’ve already typed this far....

Gaston is one cool customer. My question: if he can be that cool when actually being threatened with a gun, why are all these white cops so trigger happy when confronting unarmed black folk?

Black Panthers tried that. Didn’t really work out so well for them.

I’m waiting with bated breath for the security guard and his apologists’ hot take on what transpired.

Similar incident happened in St Louis about a year or so back. Cops chased a guy, he wrecked literally next door to an off duty Black Officer. BO comes out to offer assistance, gets told to stand down by the arresting officers. WhiteBoi Cop comes running up and SHOOTS BO *while* he is talking to the other officers on

I am thankful that Officer Gaston was well-trained, highly disciplined, and level headed. I think most of us in this situation would not been able to keep their composure and someone would have ended up dead. I wish all officers had his professionalism. Think about how many situation would have been de-escalated

I misread this, and am now being righteously owned for accidentally humble-bragging about collegiate sports in the comments. I deserve all of this, and thank you.

Can the batter do this if there is a man on first? Because at some point there will be a man on first that doesn’t run when this happens, and there will be a rundown between home and first. Can the runner make it back to home? And continue his at-bat?

Blocking pitches and throwing guys out are not new and unusual skills for catchers. I think they will be fine.

I imagine it’s scored the same as a runner already on base advancing.

Well...they shouldn’t have though. I’m a younger “woke” person who loves films those actors were in, But it’s not the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s anymore, it’s 2019 going on 2020 and right about now the human race was arguably supposed to get smarter about society, culture, inclusiveness and representation in the media

Yeah - the problem isn’t a non-trans actress taking a role as trans character.

The problem is the limitation on roles for trans actors.

This type of shaming basically just reinforces the problem that they want to solve - which is essentially typecasting by freaking out that they are not getting roles that they are

When they have trans women being able to play “Irish woman” or other traditional cis woman parts without it being questions or centered around thier trans identity, then scarjo can play a trans person

Sure, as an actor, she can only really make decisions on what parts she’d like to play. not so much who gets considered, unless she’s maybe part of the production part, too.

I don’t know...I usually enjoy my KFC with a glass of Roar 2016 Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands).

Why? Why is that weird?

Getting your ass handed to you on a social media platform is not “killing you”.
